Additional Information: Nottingham Youth Freestyle Event

This year, the Freestyle Club Championships are being held on the same weekend. The YFS event will be held during the day on Saturday and then after the prize-giving the first of the Club Champ events will be held into the evening, continuing on the Sunday.

Why not make a weekend of it and enter the Club Champs as well?

The Nottingham event for the Youth Freestyle will kick start a full weekend of kayaking and competitions. The 2011 Freestyle Club Championships and GB Freestyle League Event 10th (commences at straight after Youth Freestyle) / 11th September.

There will be a brand new kayak for the winning club, generously donated by Pyranha!

Entry fee for the Freestyle Club Championships and GB Freestyle League is £15 plus a bib deposit of £10 returned at the end of the competition. This includes use of any parts of the course that are not being used for the competition.

The current timetable is as follows:
Saturday afternoon -
Registration opens at 3pm
Flat water freestyle
Down River Race
BBQ - The BBQ and fuel will be provided, please bring your food and drinks with you

Sunday starting 10am (register from 8.30 to 9.30 for those not taking part on Saturday

Three classes of freestyle competition:
Novice - little or no experience, to the youth freestyle rules (http://www.youthfreestyle.co.uk/attachments/section/1/Youth_Freestyle_Score_Sheet.pdf)
Open - won a novice event/has some experience, ICF rules but every move scores as many times as you can do them
Expert - anyone wanting to enter this category plus GB league event competitors, GB selection competitors, sponsored paddlers and current members of the GB Freestyle Team, ICF rules

Anyone who enters who is part of a Canoe Club should enter under their club name because each member scores points for every event they compete in and the club with the highest overall score will WIN A KAYAK FROM PYRANHA! and there are many other fantastic prizes available.

The scores from the Expert category will also count towards the competitors overall league ranking and the top person from each category from the league will be awarded a place on the GB Freestyle Team for 2012.

There will also be coaching available with GB Freestyle Team coaches and athletes that can be booked for novice entrants, there will however be a limited number of places so if the coaching is oversubscribed names will be drawn from a hat.
